Key players and trailblazers in the Philippine startup, design and technological fields, gathered for this year’s Geeks on a Beach (GOAB) held at the Princesa Garden Island Resort and Spa Hotel, in Puerto Princesa, Palawan last August 24 and 25.
Geeks on a Beach (GOAB) was presented by Techtalks.ph, a non-profit business organization providing training and networking for tech entrepreneurs and startups in the Philippines. The conference is also sponsored by one of the country’s leading telecom company, Eastern Communications.
GOAB, also continues to bring together hundreds of technology entrepreneurs, professionals and, budding companies from different sectors of the tech industry for the fifth year, making it a stage for developing, supporting and encouraging new and innovative, local companies that show the potential of the Philippine small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) and technology industry.
The conference was the ideal avenue for up-and-coming businesses as they were given the chance to acquaint themselves with investors at the private executive roundtable sessions and even pitch their existing or developing start-ups.
Eastern Communications supported the 5th Geeks on a Beach as part of their commitment towards championing small and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) and startups as it provides connectivity solutions and services to entrepreneurs, along with forums and activities that provide information that will help SMEs speed up their growth.
One example is their partnership for the pioneering 600-square meter co-working space called Square One BGC. Developed by Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation (FBDC), the space is a wonderful fit for start-ups looking for a creative workspace and a prime location without shelling out for a hefty lease.
Together with IT professionals from the manufacturing industry, they also launched Altitude 2.0, a series of solutions forum that tackled the latest trends in technology particularly the Internet of Things or IoT and Cybersecurity.
The company not only offers connectivity products but also knowledge and expertise in the latest trends in the digital world that will allow companies to take advantage of new and emerging technologies.
“Every start-up needs not only a connections provider but a strong partner in making their companies progress – our aim is to be that dependable partner, supporting enterprises with both technology and customer service, linking clients to the global network for uninterrupted growth.” said Jed Estanislao, Marketing Services Head.
Eastern Communications truly showcased their commitment of helping more SMEs grow with their goal to provide strong connections and highly-personalized service at this year’s GOAB.
