Eastern Communications customer base up by 7% in 2020

World-class digital solutions and excellent customer service applauded

Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on many industries, premier telecommunications company Eastern Communications reported a 7% customer growth from 2019.  

The company attributed this growth to increased subscribers acquiring single to multiple services such as work from home productivity tools, residential internet, and enterprise connectivity due to the sudden rise of demand for internet service as people adapt to the new normal.    

In its commitment to support businesses and individuals at this challenging time, Eastern Communications highlighted a variety of adaptive end-to-end solutions, which included Eastern Cloud, Office 365, Eastern CyberDefense, Eastern Home, among others.  

Currently, expansion efforts in other regions such as Region 4A, Region 5, Region 6, and more are ongoing to support nationwide services, especially the underserviced communities.  

“Like many other companies, Eastern Communications was also impacted by the pandemic, but we took it as a challenge to be proactive and educate people on the solutions they could leverage on to be agile and steady in this era,” said Eastern Communications Sales Division Head Michael Castañeda. 

As Eastern Communications continues to provide digital tools and excellent customer service to help Filipinos amidst the pandemic, the telco has been commended by its clients.   

For instance, Eastern Communications has been part of the digital transformation of Cargo Padala Express (CaPEx), the fast-growing freight forward in the country.  

“With the improvement of their footprint, I have also acquired their services for our satellite branches which provides us stable internet 24/7,” shared CaPEx IT Manager Glenly Mallari.  

According to Batchie De Leon, Executive Director of Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP), a non-profit organization for the healthcare IT-BPM industry, Eastern communications provides a unique partnership that helps the mutual agenda to promote tele-health and tele-medicine to the provinces and outlying and unserved areas. 

“The installation is fast that even on pandemic it never failed to deliver the commitment to install within our timeline,” said Feiyun Cloudtech Corporation ISP Manager Rui Wang on his experience with Eastern Communications during pandemic. Feiyun is a high-tech enterprise company in the Philippines.
